A walk among the rows of vines – we are in the Bellezza vineyard – the veraison of the grapes has begun. The heat of the last few weeks resulted in the grapes veraison about a week earlier than the average in recent years, but the conditions of the grapes are very good.
It is the onset of the ripening of the grapes. The veraison is the change of color of the grape berries: this represents the transition from berry growth to berry ripening – many changes in berry development occur at veraison and on until the full ripeness is reached. The harvest will take place in full ripeness, on the basis of indices that take into account the sugar content and the acid content.
